Registered Nurse

*HOURS: ALL SHIFTS AS REQUIRED, INCLUDING WEEKENDS

QUALIFICATIONS:


Current registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse required

Current B.C.L.S. Certification (within 12 months) required

Knowledge of neurodegenerative disorders, best practices, and relevant pharmacotherapy for this population

Experience working with older adults demonstrating responsive behaviours including evidence of creative application
of Personhood


Knowledge of relevant acts and regulations e.g. Regulated Health Professionals Act, Mental Health Act, PHIPA

Ability to work effectively with members of a multi-disciplinary team, including participation in nursing programming

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively deal with clients, families, employees, service
providers


Computer application experience required including advanced level of skill in documentation

Motivational Interviewing and ASSIST training an asset

Educational requirements: GPA, PIECES

Montessori Methods for Dementia an asset

Ability to provide leadership with evidence of critical decision making abilities

Must be willing to work shifts in other programs as required

Must demonstrate commitment to ensure your safety, the safety of fellow workers, patients, volunteers, and
visitors


Must support and contribute to a culture of safety and prevention of adverse health events in this organization

Good attendance and work record required

Bilingualism (Advanced level English/French) is required. All unilingual candidates are encouraged to apply
and may be considered if the identified French requirement has been met or there are no successful
bilingual candidates. A formal French test will be conducted to evaluate the proficiency level.
