We have an exciting opportunity for a strategically thinking community organizer to join our Washington Service Corps team as an Outreach Manager.

The Washington Service Corps is a service program that provides benefits to communities in every part of the state through the deployment of AmeriCorps members that support environmental sites, food banks, schools, and other non-profit organizations. Our Outreach Specialists lead member recruitment career fairs, marketing endeavors in support of recruiting site partners, and other events to educate colleges, state agencies, and high schools about WSC and national service.

Duties

As the Outreach Manager you will tasked with conducting outreach and developing project site partners, funding opportunities, in-kind donations, and other development opportunities state-wide. Your deep understanding of strategic planning and ability to facilitate the deployment of that plan will be key as you will lead and manage the group-wide effort of program outreach, marketing, funding and program development across the state using in-person, virtual and social media strategies. You will provide oversight, coordination, and implementation of outreach services while working collaboratively with community organizations and other related groups.

Some of what you will be doing:
Manage and oversee the outreach and recruitment of AmeriCorps members.

Develop a member recruitment strategy and plan and facilitate deployment of plan with outreach specialist.

Create a comprehensive contact list for the development partner sites.

Create and maintain a strategic plan in coordination with the WSC director to identify and develop opportunities for large partner site development across the state.

Make contacts with high-level leaders to begin marketing and negotiation of partnerships.

Cultivate funding opportunities that amplify the quality and scope of AmeriCorps partnerships across the state.

Coach and develop staff.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
A combination of relevant education and/or experience* totaling no less than eight (8) years.

Must include:
Two (2) years of leading business projects in the non-profit sector.

Two (2) years of experience in outreach and/or non-profit business development/funding activities.

  • Such as: business administration, public administration, non-profit management, social

services, sociology/psychology business analysis, communications and/or

presenting complex information*

Education to Experience Equivalences:
Associate Degree = 2 years | Bachelor Degree = 4 years | Masters or Higher = 5 years

Desired Qualifications:
National service in AmeriCorps, Vista, Peace Corps or other similar program.

Demonstrated ability to manage programs.

Experience managing staff.

Additional Requirements of Employment:
Ability to pass a State and federal background check to CNCS standards.

The ability to travel on a daily basis to provide services to our customers and community partners.

Must be able to pass an Unemployment Insurance (UI) Claim & Benefit Information Review.
