Line Quality Inspector Job in Burnaby, BC at Daiya Foods

Job Description

SUMMARY:

The Line Quality Inspector ensures that Daiya’s quality standards are enforced and maintained at all stages of the manufacturing processes. Line Inspector will ensure that manufacture of products is carried out in accordance with internal and external standards and in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices, HACCP and SQF requirements along with Work Safe BC standards.

SHIFT TIMES

  • AM Shift – 6:30am to 3:00pm (Monday to Friday and Wednesday to Sunday)
  • PM Shift – 3:00pm to 11:30pm (Monday to Friday and Wednesday to Sunday)
  • With occasional overtime

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Ensure quality of products and packaging meet Company Standards by performing the following tests: visual inspection, weight, CO2, leak and etc.

· Record and maintain testing results, information and other measuring metrics such as number of defective products per day

· Recommend improvements to the production process to ensure quality control

· Teach the production team about quality control concerns to improve product excellence

· Assist the Team Supervisor in coordinating, training and delegating tasks

· Administer necessary paperwork required for production control, as required by the SOP for Operations and QA

· Maintain quality, safety, security and housekeeping procedures within the packaging department

· Verify product and line correctness through standard company audit process and line set-up check list

· Support continuous improvement process throughout the packaging department

· Must be comfortable working in dry, refrigerated, and/or freezer environment

· Tasks may require some heavy-duty lifting

· Other related duties and responsibilities as assigned

RELATED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

· Experience in packaging and/or a manufacturing environment is an asset

· Able to work in a cold environment (2°C) and stand on your feet for an extended period of time

· Sound and professional communication and interpersonal skills

· Demonstrated analytical, problem solving and decision-making abilities

· Organized and strong attention to details

· Proactive, ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced and changing environment with minimal supervision

EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma; post-secondary education is preferred
  • At least one (1) year experience in a coordinating role in a food manufacturing setting
  • Knowledge of and demonstrated ability to implement HACCP, SQF, SOPs, SSOP’s, GMPs, and preventative maintenance programs applicable to food production and food safety principles.
  • Able to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
