If the answer to these questions is yes, then join our E-Commerce team and help us give our online customers the content experience you’d want—and one that will keep them coming back.

The Editor sets standards and guidelines of product page copy to ensure content written for BestBuy.ca gives a consistent experience for customers. The Editor not only creates copy for priority requests as needed, but also track and maintains the quality of content from outsourced writers.

As an Editor you will …

Plan, organize, and prioritize lists of products to send to the external content provider

Collect, format, and prepare the completed copy to be put into a Content Management System

Encourage SEO best practices

Act as the point of contact for all inquiries or feedback for all outsourced product description copy

Ensure the content provider has the strongest resources in place to meet expectations

Provide feedback and recommend certain writers to be removed when standards aren’t met

Communicate content provider’s progress and quality of deliverable to stakeholders

Lead, advise, and track the continuous improvement of outsourced writers

Conduct comprehensive spot checks of product description copy for accuracy; and, make edits that will offer the best return on investment

Act as a stakeholder to identify product categories for review, testing, and analysis for purposes of optimizing the customer experience and drive efficiencies

Create and maintain an efficient editorial process

Create copy for priority requests as needed

Work with developer team to identify opportunities for automation and workflow improvements

Write engaging, SEO-friendly articles for the Best Buy Blog as requested by the Blog Editor in Chief

The experience we need …

3-5 years’ experience in an editing or copywriting role

Bachelor’s Degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, or Business-Related Field OR related work experience

Bonus points …

Knowledge or experience writing about consumer electronics

Experience writing with mobile or web related content

Project Management experience

Digital Marketing or SEO certification or experience

Editing courses
