Job Title Creative Services Manager

Position Summary
The Creative Services Manager (CSM) oversees the operation of the Marketing & Communications Office’s creative production services. From project intake and management of the creation of creative content, advertising and promotional materials to review of project effectiveness, the CSM manages internal and external projects for the creatives services team. The CSM is a TXWES brand expert and advises client-produced creative works toward best practices. The CSM enforces style and graphic guidelines internally and externally to ensure all creative meets established quality standards.
The CSM is also heavily involved in development and implementation of the University’s social media strategy. This includes managing content calendars, posting and reporting on effectiveness with the support of the social media team.
Candidate must have experience managing print and related creative projects in a creative office, advertising agency or production environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Project Management
Trains departments around campus to use ProWorkFlow, our project management software, to submit video, photography, web, digital and print design requests.
Works with departments to collect all project information including: target audience, conversion, deadlines, finalized copy, etc., then traffics the project through to creative team.
Manages production schedules while helping the team to manage priorities.
Processes job to completion through internal review, client review, final deliverable and assessment of project with client after completion.

2. Print and Promotional Vendor Management
Maintains good relationships with print and promotional vendors. Works with vendors to organize production of print campaigns and promotional items.
3. Campus Signage
Responsible for maintaining all branded public spaces.
Manages regular checks on campus branding and works with vendors and facilities to repair and update signage.
4. Brand Management
The CSM is an expert on the brand and holds monthly training sessions to educate the campus community on the importance of brand standards and working with the marketing and communications team.
5. Social Media Marketing
Works with the social media team to develop and implement the University’s social media strategy. This includes managing content calendars, posting and reporting on effectiveness with the support of the social media team.
6. Student Worker Supervisor
The CSM will hire and supervise student worker(s) each semester.
7. Support Marketing & Communications Projects
May be asked to support the marketing and communications team projects such as: website updates, creative brainstorms, survey creations, copy writing, etc.
Performs other related duties and projects as assigned.

Education, Certifications and/or Licenses
Bachelor’s degree in marketing/communications/journalism or related field required.

Experience
Experience managing production schedules in a creative office or production environment.
Ad agency experience strongly desired.
Experience managing social media.

Ability to adhere to University and departmental policies and procedures.
Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
Working knowledge of computer peripherals, including scanners, printers and digital cameras.
Knowledge of customer services best practices.
Knowledge of print production process and experience sourcing promotional material.
Ability to maintain a professional appearance and office atmosphere.
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Good communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
Ability to write standard correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to current and prospective students and University employees.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Ability to complete all physical tasks as needed.
