Creative Director

This position will report to the VP, Marketing

This is a brand-new role that is being created to support the Creative Team to ensure a high level of creative and strategic direction. The Franworks Group of Companies Creative Director will work directly with the VP, Marketing to develop all marketing and advertising initiatives to drive corporate and franchised sales. Responsible for growing the brand through improved guest retention, acquisition, and repeat sales by strengthening brand positioning and overall brand equity.


  • Collaborate with the VP of Marketing and Brand Leads to develop thoughtful, effective, and innovative omni-channel creative content and campaigns that align with brand strategy and business objectives
  • Lead the creative ideation and development of campaign concepts from briefing to final release, supporting a consistent 360 activation lens for every new campaign launch
  • Generate headlines and copy that are grammatically correct and stylistically appropriate for a variety of media and targets; proof all creative work to ensure accuracy of information
  • Maintain brand differentiation by staying true to the brand values and strategy, creating structured work that clearly articulates a campaignable idea
  • Present full cycle marketing creative idea, from initial creative deck to production, ensuring concepts are effectively communicated
  • Build upon the creative strategy and lead development of innovative creative content for five brands across a geographically diverse area; participate in departmental strategic planning process to ensure all creative deliverables are executed on time & within budget
  • Effectively balance creative strategy and execution through a hands-on approach. Including concepting, art directing, and production in order to deliver compelling creative storytelling
  • Ensure a high level of excellence in concept, design, photo and video art direction, supervision of retouching, supervision of production, and campaign execution to ensure consistency and cohesiveness
  • Be hands on in talent resourcing, relationship management and communications with outside agencies and partners
  • Direct, motivate, and mentor a growing creative team
  • Create content with an understanding of the marketing funnel; ability to leverage existing data, metrics, and campaign learnings to inform the creative work and pivot when needed; work to continually optimize content and align with key stakeholders across all levels of the organization
  • Stay on top of consumer and industry insights, trends and new innovations as well as market intelligence


  • You have 3-5 years of marketing experience as a Creative Director or have had a progressive career path in copywriting and design, and are ready for your next challenge
  • You have a strong copywriter pedigree and your portfolio demonstrates originality and multi-disciplinary thinking
  • You have University Degree, BBA, BCom or MBA (an asset)
  • You are production savvy and know how to work within budgetary constraints and have experience working with graphic designers, digital teams, photographers, videographers and vendors
  • You have a unique eye for design, are knowledgeable about the latest trends in visual arts, and can act as a source for an unlimited number of innovative ideas and concepts
  • You have the ability to write clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles, with an insight to action driven approach
  • You are highly organized and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously at different stages
  • You possess the ability to anticipate future consequences and trends accurately and you have a strong understanding of Gen Z and Millennial audiences
  • You demonstrate strong leadership with coaching experience and the ability to provide challenging and stretching tasks to aid with team member development
  • You are able to delegate and influence peers, vendors, and franchisees across different business functions (including IT and Operations).

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $90,000.00 – $98,000.00 per year
