About the Role:
An exciting on-going full-time opportunity has arisen to coordinate and support the delivery of regional/district community fire prevention and preparedness events and activities. You will provide tactical advice and input into regional/district service delivery plans for community safety and oversee the monitoring, evaluation and reporting of education and engagement programs and services against defined measures and indicators.

You will play a key role in liaising with our main stakeholders in the field, fire service agencies and other areas of CFA to build and strengthen consistent, timely and organised communication and collaboration in relation to community engagement, education programs and service delivery.

Other responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Provide support and advice to our volunteer membership, develop, and implement capacity building programs to this cohort

Provide expert advice and guidance in the analysis and assessment of community risks and vulnerability

Identify risk mitigation treatments which include community engagement and resilience building opportunities

Make recommendations for improvement on programs and services based on program evaluations and feedback

Coordinate delivery, monitoring and reporting of community education/engagement programs and localised initiatives

Support CFA’s commitment to understanding and working with local communities, providing input and feedback into programs and new approaches to community engagement

About You:
You will have excellent interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to establish and maintain excellent working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

To be successful in this role, you will also need to demonstrate:

Demonstrated experience in program and community engagement events coordination

Well-developed analytical skills

Extensive knowledge and experience in Microsoft office suite and virtual engagement tools such as Zoom, MS teams, Excel etc but not limited to

Well-developed organisational skills and demonstrated ability to set priorities and meet tight work demands

Ability to lead, mentor and develop casual and volunteer members

Ability to work unsupervised, showing innovation, creativity whilst working with a team that spans across various locations across the region

A tertiary qualification in social science, management and/or education and training or relevant industry experience
